PinkPop Music Festival 2008 Information
Don’t be put off by Pinkpop’s fluffy name. With a line-up including the likes of the Foo Fighters, Metallica, Queens of the Stone Age, and Rage Against the Machine, this festival is anything but pink…well, Kate Nash and KT Tunstall aside of course.
Pinkpop will take place on 30th May – 1st June 2008. It will see three days of Rock bands take to the stage and obliterate its audience with a shattering host of bands.
In its 38th year, Pinkpop is back, with a line-up hotter than ever. What better excuse to go to Holland for the weekend? Not that we need an excuse…
Why Pinkpop?
Pinkpop is the oldest annual festival to date, not just in Amsterdam, but in the world. If its longevity doesn’t suggest its superiority among other festivals, then maybe its impressive history of bands will:
Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, REM, Pixies, Herman Brood, Urban Dance, U2, Tool, Dire Straits, The Police, The Stranglers, The Cure….need we go on?
These performances caused such a stir that many of them are still shown on TV.
Pinkpop is also well-known for showcasing bands years before they break through, so it is the perfect place to witness some crackling future talent.
